The Criterion Collection edition of David Byrne‘s 1986 surreal musical/comedy, True Stories, is out now on Blu-ray and DVD and looks and sounds better than you’ve probably ever experienced it before. The Blu-ray comes with a CD of the new soundtrack which features all 23 songs in film order, which have been remastered and the cast versions of songs remixed. You can stream the new, complete soundtrack below. If you’re a Filmstruck member, True Stories is also available to stream…for the last three days the service exists (FilmStruck shuts down 11/29). They’ve got most of the Criterion Edition extras, too, like deleted/extended scenes, an hour-long making of documentary, and more. So that’s now 11 music movies worth watching on Filmstruck. Expect True Stories to pop back up on The Criterion Channel when it launches in 2019.

David Byrne, meanwhile, will be on hand for screenings of True Stories at NYC’s IFC Center on December 4. The 7 PM show is sold out but you can still get tickets to the 9:15 PM show which features Byrne giving “an extended intro.” You can watch the trailer for True Stories below.
