David Byrne Presents: The Music Didn’t Stop

An eclectic selection - mostly songs that came out within the last year... with a few exceptions. Some folks got busy under lockdown by writing new material, or finished up recordings. I visited my former collaborator St Vincent last year when she was working on (I assume) the album that just came out. We had a lovely lunch outdoors on the roof. I was a little jealous - as I’ve found it tough to write last year... how to respond to all that has happened? The pandemic, the cries for justice and the BLM demonstrations, the election... wow... it’s been a lot. I’ve kept busy, but some folks managed to continue writing and recording - though I can’t say many of these songs reflect what the world has been going though. It would be pretty hard - as an artist in NZ or South Korea would have had a very different experience than someone here in NY or certainly India.
Speaking of India- I have donated some photo prints to a charity called Citta that a friend has run for years. They have built schools for girls, small hospitals and sustainable workshops and are selling small prints by me and others to raise funds for Covid response over there https://hope4india.us/
