The soundtrack to Bernardo Bertolucci's 1987 film, The Last Emperor, an epic tale of Pu Yi, the exiled final potentate of China's 3,000-year old Qing dynasty, was composed by David Byrne, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Cong Su. It won the Academy Award, Grammy, and Golden Globe for Best Original Score.
